Core services
For Individuals

Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness

We offer both 1-2-1 and group mindfulness sessions. Mindfulness is the quality of being present and really engaged in whatever it is that we are doing in the moment. Many of us spend large amounts of time ruminating on either the past or the future, which means we spend much less time enjoying the here and now.  Learning to live in a more mindful way can help us to take a breath, not be consumed by our thoughts and feelings and be able to face difficult or challenging situations in a different way.

At Beaming Benevolence we are very aware that for a proportion of trauma survivors some of the traditional mindfulness techniques, such as Mindful meditation, are not always easy or helpful if practised without careful guidance. Consequently we practice trauma-sensitive mindfulness which means we are aware of and can work with those people to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.

Trauma-Informed Clinical Supervision

Having worked in Social Work and related services for many years, we are acutely aware of the impact that this work has on practitioners and managers at all levels. During our time in these organisations we actively promoted the use of Clinical Supervision as a necessary part of creating safety for practitioners in these roles. Now as independent providers we seek to offer this service to all professionals working on the frontline of social care with children, adults and families. This will include qualified social work professionals, youth workers, family support workers, Domestic Abuse specialists etc.

The benefits of good clinical supervision are well researched and understood. These include a feeling of being supported, individuals feeling less isolated and experiencing less stress and burnout, increased personal confidence, self-value and enhanced job satisfaction. It is also a tool for personal development, bringing the possibility of increased knowledge and awareness of possible solutions to problems and participation in reflective practice.

Within Clinical Supervision sessions, we will offer our skills and specialist knowledge to each and every individual to allow for the most beneficial outcomes and support.

Feel Safe and Stay Well 1-2-1 sessions

Over the course of over 40 years of joint experience working with traumatised children, adults and families we have been very aware that there are a large number of people who do not receive the support that they would like or need. Recovery is individual to everyone and can include a range of options. This is where we can help, in providing an opportunity to access a safe space to consider individual pathways and to take the first step on your individual journey of recovery.

In providing these 1-2-1 sessions, we aim to offer individuals the opportunity to explore the impact of both their past and present experiences on them, to help them to understand why they may feel and behave the way that they do and provide options for addressing some of these difficulties. These sessions would be beneficial to people who are looking to make a change, who recognise that they don’t want to feel or act in the same ways anymore, or for people who are simply feeling overwhelmed by their emotions at times.

We will utilise a variety of knowledge, skills and practical applications to provide options for recovery with the aim of supporting people to feel safe, connected, learning how to improve their emotional well-being and able to consider next steps. These might include the application of Polyvagal research, tools and strategies, the Safe and Sound Protocol (Stephen Porges), Trauma-sensitive mindfulness practice……and many other options individualised to you.

All sessions will be delivered at your pace, from your lead and will reflect your expertise of your own story.

COACHING 1 – 2 – 1

No matter how hard we try, we cannot always deal with situations the way that we would like to. Often people can misinterpret what we are trying to say, or we simply do not say what we want to. This can lead to the breakdown of relationships, loss of confidence or lack of self-progression. If you have lost your sense of direction or are struggling to find a solution to a particular issue, we can work together in a supportive, safe and confidential space to enable you to work through issues and develop your own solutions.

Whilst you may not always feel in control, you will have the answers within you to bring about positive change. We offer a creative and curious client centric self-learning environment which empowers you to set goals and improve your quality of life and wellbeing.

Coaching focuses on the future, letting go of the past and supporting you to reach your full potential and change what is not working for you. We will utilise a variety of coaching models, tools, and techniques to support your transition and personal development. Some of the areas that we have supported clients to improve are, identifying the blocks and self-limiting beliefs, building self-confidence and resilience, manging conflict, and difficult situations, and managing change and developing self-kindness. “The first step toward change is awareness. The second step is acceptance.” – Nathaniel Brandon.
